Best acoustic strings EVER.
I recently bought another Alvarez-Yairi DY73CS to replace the one I bought and then sold years ago. But the "new" guitar just didn't have the tone I recalled from the earlier guitar, with big bass and bright, silky highs. No matter the strings, I was disappointed. When I heard about the release of Red strings, and their claims to provide full bass along with crystal highs. Given the low price, I couldn't not try them out. :) And they deliver everything they claim and then some. They also hold up extremely well, only dulling slightly as they aged and picked up oils and dirt from my left hand.I couldn't be happier! Low price, full sound, long-lasting. What is there NOT to like?

Good strings but theres better stuff out there.
I used to use these exclusively, but after I tried a set of the martin lifespans I will never go back. The Red's are good though, very mellow sounding, but full sounding at the same time. I think you'll like them, only problem for me is, they just don't last as long as the martin lifespans, and once they start to go they sound awful.

Review from a formerly loyal user of RED Strings
I've gone from being a huge fan of RED strings to not buying them anymore. I'm a professional musician, and since 2011, I have performed exclusively with RED strings. This year, I noticed a difference in the quality. Three sets had bad G strings. The strings were dead and buzzy. I thought it was my guitar, did a truss rod adjustment, checked the braces with an inspection mirror, then tried a G string from a set of Martin strings and it sounded fine. I ended up throwing away four sets of RED strings at about $12 a set. I called the RED string company and they said they were aware of the problem and working to fix it. They also promised to send replacement sets for the bad ones. Guess what? I'm still waiting for those replacement strings. I don't expect to see them anytime soon. RED has lost a formerly loyal customer to poor quality control and failure to keep their promises.

Warmer and louder
Waited a long time to try these out. I put them on a Larrivee LV 03R (rosewood). There was a little stiffness that took some getting used to and the G string sounded lifeless for awhile. The strings felt more like medium gauge that light. After an hour of playing the strings came to life and are warmer and louder than 80/20 strings. They sound good and loud strummed but really shine when fingerpicked. There's a piano like tone that's pleasantly different. Glad I tried them and will know better in a few weeks if I'll stick with them.

Great tone on smaller guitars
These strings made a big improvement tonally on a small guitar I own. You should have a backup set ready though...they seem to die a quick death when they go...

Awful! Terrible! Worst ever!
Wow, I have never disliked guitar strings like I hated these strings. I don't think I've ever actually disliked a guitar string so much that I had to take them off after a week. these were difficult to tune. The tone... I can't really even call it "tone", the sound was awful. Not just dead but ugly. I am back to my EXP's. Don't know why I wasted the money. Couldn't even return them because I didn't put them on until after the return window ended.

My new strings.
I have two custom Martin Acoustics. I used to use only their strings as well. I saw a great write up in an acoustic magazine and figured what the hell. I was very happily surprised. Very bright yet deep sound. The marriage with my Martins was like no other strings I have used in the past. They last a while and hold there integrity. I am staying with these. Just ordered 3 more packs.

The Best Kept Secret in Strings!
As the other reviewer stated, these strings produce sweet, crisp tones and age like a fine wine. Mine look brand new after several months of use on two guitars. I recently sold a 1942 Martin 0-17 and took these strings off before shipping so I could put them on another guitar I plan on keeping. They're really that good.
