Mine is doing fine in a large planter - no apples yet but I live in hope. Lovely tree though👍

Q: How long will it take to fruit

You can expect some fruit in its second year. By 3 years old you should be having a good amount of apples. Make sure their growing conditions are right for it. These trees do need to be fed and watered. They need a sunny but sheltered spot. Hope you found my comments helpful.

Q: Can you eat the apples from this tree?

Yes they are lovely and sweet tasting. They are ready to eat when they are rosey red. They turn a purple colour 1st then turn red. They won't be a large apple approx size of a golf ball. They will produce fruit in their second year by the 3rd year you should have a reasonable amount. I hope you found this helpful.

Q: What sized planter would be big enough?

I have my tree in a 12 inch earthenware pot with a drip tray, I have had the tree for two years, it is in full blossom right now and it looks stunning! I planted it in peat free compost with added vermiculite for drainage. I have been feeding it with coffee grounds and fish blood and bone. I highly recommend this tree.
