My three year old loves this game!!
We absolutely LOVE this game! We bought it to teach my three year old how to play backgammon so she could play with her grandfather who is a backgammon champ. It was exceeded our expectations. The story and characters are too cute! It does a great job of explaining the game and making it memorable for littles. I was worried she would be overwhelmed by all the little pieces but she loves the different kinds of boats and can set the board up by herself. This game is totally worth the money and now we get to have a family game night!

Defective piece
Problem with quality control. King shaky's piece did not have the holder for the image. Otherwise having a great time with my kids. minus a star for the defective piece.

Chess and a story!
My 5 year old grandson pulls this out every time he comes over. I have had this game for about 6 months, but I haven’t written a review. I thought my grandson would tire of playing, but he is really beginning to understand chess.

Fun for my toddler
My toddler is interested in our board game collection so we started one for her. This made the list. She loves playing with the pieces and the little "mini-games" help her solidify the piece movements. I wouldn't call them actual mini-games, they are more like practice exercises. I don't know how long it would take for her to learn all of the piece movements, but she seems excited when we pull it out, especially when she can see the character who shares her nickname.

Great chess for kids!
Great way for young children to learn chess. My 5 y/o granddaughter learned all the names and moving patterns in 2 days. Worth the price, but must spend more on subsequent levels.
