Perfect mate to BIGTREETECH SKR Mini E3 V3.0
I just got an Ender 5 Plus, that I wanted to make modern. I got a BTT SKR Mini E3 V3.0, and one of the Mini12864 displays. As it turns out, that mainboard can't use the Mini12864 without building a custom cable. This display works great. There's some technical stuff that I had to dig around for. Here it is.For 12864 mode, it needs the cable going to the 3RD display port, and you need this enabled in your firmware.#define CR10_STOCKDISPLAYFor the TFT mode, they did this in an interesting way. You don't need to enable anything, the TFT just sends gcodes and shows you the result. You do need to have all your serial ports working though.#define SERIAL_PORT 2#define BAUDRATE 115200#define SERIAL_PORT_2 1#define BAUDRATE_2 115200#define SERIAL_PORT_3 -1#define BAUDRATE_3 115200With those serial ports, I have the 12864 mode, TFT mode, and Octoprint attached by USB.I hope this helps someone else.

Great upgrade for your printer.
The screen didn’t change print quality or make noise like the review stars say but it is a great addition to my printer. I use the SD card for printing and the LCD Audi shows the full long file names which is a vast improvement. If you like the old style display, this screen can emulate that too. Be sure to get the latest firmware. There are several cases out there too.

Dead after 3 months
I installed this on an Ender 5 Plus using a 3D-printed screen bracket from Thingiverse. It worked great fpr about 3 months until it suddenly stopped. The screen is completely dead - no backlight at all and no display output. The documentation describes how to do a hard reset, but none of the steps are working as they should. This leads me to believe that the microcontroller is dead. All I get are two LEDs on the back of the board whenever power is applied - the red power LED, and the green LED that indicates that the SD card is inserted. And naturally, there's no warranty information listed anywhere, likely because there is no such warranty to honor.

Not for Klipper therefore not for Manta!
While there is nothing wrong with the display itself and it works fine for Marlin it is not compatible with Klipper at all. The item claims compatibility with the Manta boards and this is the reason I am giving only 3 stars. This is simply a misrepresentation of compatibility. While the manta board are capable of runner marlin they are not intended for Marlin. They are specially designed with klipper in mind so you can have an all in one solution (with the CB modules) without needing a raspberry pi or similar separate board. I bought this because it listed support for it and I feel this is very misleading. But this only if you want a nice board for Marlin firmware.

Nice clean display
I have a couple displays more with the rotary knob below from Bigtree. They work excellent with their printer controller, SKR 1.4 (turbo), SKR2 and SKR3. The only thing I find inadequate is the buzzer. It is not loud enough when I have fans, AC running. Very low audible output. Dunno why that on the quiet side. My other displays put out a much higher beep.I'll have to investigate this, I believe they may have changed a resistor value. If you hook up the two included 10 pin ribbon cable (mostly too short), you'll be able to switch between full color (icon) display and the Marlin mode display. I have yet to find a reason why one would need the Marlin mode. I believe, some controller don't have the ability to display full color. Perhaps, that's why it is available? It will run just fine with only the RS232 wiring, however the same issue with cable length exists. The controller is located in the rear and if you print a housing that attaches to the front (Prusa Style) either wiring is too short "just by that much" (Don Adams). In this configuration, you better have a crimping tool and the appropriate contacts on hand.

Excellent Ender Upgrade
Part of an upgrade I did to my 3D Printer, Excellent change from the stock screen and dimmable. It lets me run the printer for days long prints without having to worry about the screen lighting the room up at night. Love the ability to switch between touch screen and 12864 modes. Onboard SD and USB drive ports to print from.
