This is a quality product for the price. I have 2 SUV's for drive-on beach surf fishing and each one had fixed mount rod holders that stayed on year-round and were not very attractive in appearance. I was looking for a product that could be used on either SUV and would be easy to mount and take down for storage when not in use. This product is ideal for that purpose. The assembly instructions are very clear and it took about 10 minutes to assemble. It is a clean, sleek design that clamps on my SUV crossbars and it comes off for easy storage when not is use.

I wanted to get a rod rack onto my car that was unobtrusive. I thought a lot about the Yakima TopWater, but ultimately decided it was too big and bulky and expensive. This is a nice solution because it is easy to get on and off my OEM roof rack on my Toyota RAV4 Prime and allows me to transport a number of rods. If I tried hard, I could probably get up to 8 rods in it, but I think it's more reasonable to get 4-5.The rubber material helps protect the rods and not damage them, but holds them securely. As might be expected, when driving, there is some wind noise from this, but it's tolerable. I especially like that I can take this off and it doesn't take up a bunch of space. It's an easy solution to get rods out of the car and bouncing between seats or vibrating against things. Very happy with this.

I wish I had bought this a year ago. It saves so much space inside the car and loading it up is a breeze. It saves me so much time while getting ready for a trip and returning. Pretty simple to install also. Easy to use and it locks.Only downside is if you wanted to lock it, someone could still snatch your reels if you leave them on it. Easy if you have to store overnight to just remove the reels.

This thing is awesome. I have it on top of my Yakima Overhaul setup on my Ram 2500, and it works perfectly. Holds my rods, usually six of them, for any fishing trips I'm taking. I usually have four bass rods and two catfish rods that are considerably different in girth, but it holds them all tightly and it locks them in for any stops that I need to make on the way. I've only had it for a few months now, but it looks pretty durable. Very happy with this purchase.

Likes:It holds my rods in firmly. Not concerned if they might come loose and smash into someone’s windshield.Is lockable.Can double as a ski rack.Dislike:It only works if mounted flat side up. I wish it could be side mounted. Or mounted upside down. Could have used the space on my rack more effectively.A flush mount system would make it look a bit streamline. The mount is a bit bulky. Btw there are 3 grooves in the back of the mount. Pick the right one to fit your bar. If you dislike reading instructions as badly as I do (Don’t tell me what to do!!) and call the company to curse them out for not making a mount to fit your HD bar to only find out they thought of it... well this will save your the embarrassing phone call.Wish I could have justified spending the extra money and purchased the enclosed fishing rod holder... Rrrrr... it’s a Fing rod holder! But you have the money dude. Why is it so much? I want it! Need it? It’s sooo sleek. It’s cost more than most of your rods.

Just rename an 20yr old ski rack as a fishing rod carrier and put it out on the market?Not a single Improvement or changes from a 25 yr old Yakima ski rack.

Product is fantastic for carrying fishing rods - up to 8 but easy 6 for sure. Sold as a rock. Very happy but shipping… that’s a different story. It’s slow.
