Very sturdy - No attachments fit....

In terms of a portable laptop stand (like I use it), it is fantastic! sturdy, stable, massive, a bit heavy, but I prefer it this way.NOW: the vertical pipe is thicker than 3/4", which makes ALL the attachments I wanted to add to this great piece, worthless....All the attachments Amazon recommends when buying it, don't fit. You either have to file the lip of the mounted piece to widen the opening to grip the vertical pipe (stand) or return the item. I've decided to file the pieces because I can use them when on site.Do I recommend it? Absolutely!Would I buy it again? Not sure.... I'd make sure the vertical pipe is 3/4" thick (max) to allow attachment. If you don't need to add anything to this sturdy stand, then go for it.

Very Nice Multi-Purpose Stand

This thing is NICE. Very sturdy, easy to set up/take down and you don't get the feeling that whatever you put on it is going to wind up in pieces on the floor. The photos don't show it, but the top surface has a couple of wide strips of non-skid padding, which you might find handy, as I did.I use it mainly for a projector, but I could see a laptop, the right sized audio mixing board or even something quite a bit heavier being just fine on this. I haven't had it long enough to know if any of the threads of any of the tightening screws will strip prematurely; that does look possible. However I'm not now, and don't plan to be, using it for anything that might require extreme tightening anyway so I won't deduct any stars just for a 'possibility'.Although it's a little bit pricey for my tastes, I thought it was worth it because it seemed sturdier than the others I was considering. I'd rather pay a bit more here than have to replace a projector or some other expensive gear!

Great, product, very durable, at an affordable price!

Excellent product, exactly as described, durable, heavy-duty. Not light weight, which (for me) is a plus. It's well made and perfect for supporting my MacBook Pro at my right side while I'm at the grand piano...so I have access to music, apps, training videos, lyrics, etc., all within reach. There's no convenient place to put a notebook computer (or even a tablet) on the piano since the small "music stand" area is occupied. So, a side stand like this is ideal. I may also use it when playing acoustic guitar at outdoor gigs, so my tablet or computer can be well supported.

Sturdy stand, took some effort to put together

The quality of this stand is really good compared to your average mic/accessory stand. The base is solid like a nice speaker stand and the clutch for raising and lowering it is smooth and secure. The shelf on top has a bit of a convex bend to it that is a little awkward when you are using a laptop on top of it. The laptop tends to spin around a little on the tray as you type. The top has some strips of foam glued to it that help somewhat but it is still a problem. I think you could just bend the tray a little bit to fix this, but I haven't tried yet.Another thing about the top that is perplexing is that the "back" of the shelf has an opening in the lip for cables, but the tilt direction is mostly limited in the "forward" direction. That is, the shelf tilts all the way in one direction and only a few degrees in the other. This might be a blessing in disguise though since depending on your laptop, the "front" edge of the tray might hit your wrists, making the "back" a better "front". It's possible that I'm totally confused about how it's supposed to be oriented though. Also the lip on the tray is high enough to interfere somewhat with USB devices depending on how thick your laptop is and how fat the connector is. Eg, Macbook Air and old 1GB key hits the edge of the lip. Not a deal breaker but might bother you if you are OCD.If I designed this thing I'd probably change the tilt so that it will go 30 degrees or so in either direction and invert the "lip" on either the front or back (depending on how you look at it). This would preclude you using it like a music stand, but then, I have plenty of music stands.I kind of wish the stand could adjust low enough to be used sitting down as well, but then that's not why I bought it. I'd pay a little more for a version of this that could go from sitting to standing height though. The stand comes with the top shelf removed from the lower part of the stand, so you have to attach it before use. Although there is a little instruction book and it's pretty obvious how it goes together, actually getting the bolt pushed through and getting everything lined up is kind of a pain. A little hint is to put the shelf on the floor face-down and put the stand upside-down on top of it to get it lined up before inserting the adjustment bolt.Overall this is a really nice stand. Price was pretty good for this level of quality. I'm probably going to buy at least one more of these.

Sturdy laptop stand perfect for photoshoots

I have been doing more fashion and product photography lately and was getting tired of trying to figure out where to put my tethered Macbook. After doing some research online and reading reviews, I settled on the Quik Lok laptop holder/stand.It arrived promptly (amazon prime) and was packaged in a simple box. It required a few minutes to assemble, but I would say that it was easy to assemble (5 minutes). My first impression was how solid and stable the Quik Lok felt. One of my initial concerns was whether or not the stand would be tippy, but that was not the case. Once assembled, I adjusted the height of the stand and placed my Macbook on the stand. I have a 13" Macbook Pro, so there is some extra space on the stand, but that is not an issue. To date, I have used it on 4 shoots. It is a little heavy, but it is a happy sacrifice considering how sturdy it is. It makes it a lot easier to show the client the photos while we are doing a shoot with my camera tethered to my Macbook. It is definitely a must. I am very happy with the stand and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something like this. I believe it can also be used as a projector stand although I haven't tried it.
