I love this sketchbook! Excellent 100% cotton paper for a terrific price!
I am about to purchase my 2nd Fabriano 1264 Watercolor Pad. I love everything about this Watercolor pad. I love the size, 7x10, even though it comes in other sizes. I love that the paper is 100% cotton and the best quality for watercolor painting; because not all 100% cotton watercolor pads are created equal. I have a 100% cotton watercolor pad in a beautiful pink leather binder, but it's made in China and the paper dulls the watercolors and it does not perform like high quality papers. I love the wire binding that makes it so easy to flip the pages and makes it seem more casual and user friendly. Being fairly new to watercolor painting I am always hesitant to just pick up my paintbrush and paint in my other sketchbooks in case I mess up. The reason I'm hesitant, is because you cannot just tear out the page in my other sketchbooks. But with my Fabriano pad I can simply tear out the perforated page if I mess up, and I'm not stuck with an ugly page messing up my sketchbook. You simply cannot beat the quality, the performance, and the great price of this Fabriano watercolor pad. Try it, you'll love it like I do, I'm sure.

great for use with soft oil pastels
I use this paper with oil pastels, it is heavy enough to hold the oil pastel very well. I also utilize baby oil to better smooth the oil pastel over the sheet. I love Fabriano paper. When using oil paints I have always opted for Fabriano Pittura paper.

This is cellulose, not pure cotton, but it is the best cellulose paper
I love this sketchbook. It takes on washes and I can do scrubbing and lifting techniques very easily. I mostly use it for warm ups and studies. But if I like the painting a lot, i just tear off the page and frame it. This is just as good as the Fabriano Studio paper and i honestly do not know what the difference between the two except that this is cheaper somewhat.

The paper looks great. Hard to argue with Fabriano
The bright whiteness will make the colors pop nicely. Anyway, it just arrived so I haven't used it yet but I can tell it's going to be just what I was looking for.

Excellent
I consider myself a beginner/ not so beginner watercolor-er lol. My usual brand of paper I use is Arches 240 pound cold press watercolor paper. It's become so affordable here on Amazon. Buuuuuuut.... I always wanted to try this paper. I've heard some good things about it and purchased it when I saw the price on it. I'm so glad I did. I can layer on it very well. Scrubbing is also very nice. Some paper just shreds no matter how easy you go but not this paper. I love how you get 30 11x15 sheets at such an affordable price. I like practicing on it as well as more time consuming projects.

All around good paper.
I work mostly with guache and the paper responds well to that medium. Like many papers of that weight it will distort somewhat as it gets wet but in the end it will flatten nicely. Very pleased with it.

Poor performance.
Disappointed with this paper, sorry to say. Like to work-out compositions and colors on "lesser grade" papers before pulling out the Arches. This paper has an odd texture and the pigment tends to sit on top of the sheet for a very long time. It will warp badly under even moderate washes. There are much better "student grade" choices available.

Nice sketchbook
This sketchbook does the trick. It is not 100% cotton but is definitely higher quality paper than you get with most brands in this price range. I have a set of Fabriano paints, which I love, and is why I decided to try out their sketchbook. I’m glad I did. I truly enjoy using this book. The spiral binder allows the book to lay flat. It also has a perforated edge if you want to remove the page. This is not highly textured paper, and performs well to all types of painting styles. You can see in the photo, I did a background wash in this painting and the paper didn’t warp and dried completely flat. I do recommend this book to anyone who enjoys playing with paints, inks, liners, etc. You won’t be disappointed in your finished creation.
