Q: What was the real world file transfer speed?

I have 2 computers linked with the cable on a USB 3.0 protocol, one is an 8-core AMD PC with 16GB RAM and an SSD, the other is a laptop with a core i7, 16GB RAM, and an SSD. I created a 10GB Truecrypt dummy file and got between 150MB/s (1.2Gbit/s) and 192MB/s (1.53Gbit/s). It's awesome because my gigabit LAN connection tops out at 800-900 Mbit/s while my USB 3.0 connection tops out at 1,200-1,530 Mbit/s. Both computers are running Windows 7 Professional x64 bit Operating System. Your real world speed may vary depending upon what types of files you transfer and system specs on both machines. If you transfer one large file it'll be faster, but if you transfer a folder with many small files it, it'll be slower, even if you have an SSD. Another thing is the drivers installed emulates a USB 3.0 5.0 Gbit/s MCT 7500 NDIS LAN connection and gives it an IP address so I can link to shared files between computers using IP addresses and/or Netbios. I thought the "copy and paste," "drag and drop between desktops," or file shuttle were the only options, but nope, IP-based LAN sharing is also another option. Q: Can I hear the audio from the both connected computers through headphones?

The JUC500 is a Data Transfer Cable between two computers. Audio is not transmitted through this cable, unfortunately.

Q: What is the difference between the 100, 400 and this (usb 3.0) wormhole switch?

The difference comes in the functionality provided. The JUC100 allows the sharing of a Mouse, Keyboard, and files between two windows computers and uses USB 2.0 spec. The JUC400 works similarly to the JUC100 however it is also compatible with MacOS and is USB 3.0.

Q: Will this work on a Linux operating system? Specifically, Ubuntu 20.04?

At this time the JUC500 is only compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems.
