The Essential Wedding Collection: Piano Solo

This is FAR from the "essential" wedding collection. There are many things that SHOULD be in here that aren't. They didn't list the entire contents in the product description, which always bugs me. It is the bare bones minimum of what you might need. I suggest Wedding Performer -- Complete Piano Collection: 44 Solos for Ceremonies and Receptions instead as it has 44 songs, is only $5 more, and has a lot more useful material.

This book is a nice, inexpensive collection that would be a great addition to any pianist's wedding folder. The arrangements are shorter than the full-length classical pieces, which makes them just right for a wedding. A bride doesn't want the entire 15 minute suite, after all, she wants the main theme that people recognize.The book itself is nicely bound and the printing very readable--no funny slanted notes, etc--and the paper is good quality. With a little use, the book will easily stay open flat.Much better choice than some of the more pricey collections. It's classical music--it is what it is. Don't pay more for fancy bindings.

Intermediate level traditional wedding marches. Both the Bridal Chorus and the Wedding March were included, along with Trumpet Voluntary and Canon in D. Just what I needed in one book!

Modified or simplified versions of popular pieces. e.g. beethoven pathetique 2nd mov is not the original version but is fairly close. Pretty good selection. Moderate difficulty - unless you're a very quick sight reader, will take some practice.

I am not at all satisfied with this book. The pages are cut crooked, some of them have huge margins, and some of them have parts of the staff missing. Other pages are bound to close so it's impossible to read part of the music

Dan Coates' arrangements and selections are exactly right for all pianists and brides of any age. I'd replace Meditation with something newer, but the rest of the selections are good.

Lots of excellent music. Just what I needed.
