My favorite Civivi model yet!
I'm not sure why the Civivi Brazen and ODD 22 models are listed on the same page as different variants of each other, but this review is for the ODD 22 model.I enjoy Civivi's pocket knives and have bought 6 or 7 different models by them over the last few years. The Tuffknives-designed ODD 22 is my favorite one so far. It's got nice lines that are aesthetically pleasing, and it has excellent ergonomics for me. My biggest complaint about most folders with sub-3" blades is that they tend to feel really small in my hands to the point that they are not particularly comfortable to grip for me. Because of its wider profile, the ODD 22 actually fills the hand nicely for a smaller knife with average thickness. The chamfering on the handle scales adds to the knife's comfortable grip. With dual thumbstuds and a flipper tab, the ODD 22 can be opened in a variety of ways, and I found it to perform well as both a flipper and as a stud opener. The detent is just right on this knife; it allows crisp action as a flipper but isn't too strong as to make the thumbstud action difficult, even when reverse flicked. I would not call the out-of-the-box action "drop-shut smooth", as on mine the detent ball track doesn't feel particularly polished when I close the knife. I do expect it to smooth out with use, though. There is jimping on the spine of the knife and on the flipper tab to enhance handling and grip. The ODD 22 is priced about right for a folder with a 14C28N blade. It's certainly not the best value you'll find from a materials standpoint, but I'd hesitate to call it overpriced. The one gripe I do have with this model is its pocket clip. It is a stamped deep carry stainless steel clip, and where it bends back, it actually creates a hot spot for me when I grip the knife. There is an easy solution for this, though it will cost $13-$14 extra. I bought one of those milled Civivi titanium pocket clips and installed it using screw pack B that comes with the clip, and that immediately got rid of the hot spot. The added cost of the separate clip is obviously a negative, but I liked the design of the knife enough that it didn't bother me much. All in all, the ODD 22 is my favorite Civivi model that I've owned. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a knife that is under $80.

Beautiful
This knife is gorgeous. I love the elegant lines and sweeping curve of the trailing point. The wood scales are pretty. The whole package is unique. Overall size is nice, better than I thought. Opens smoothly, overall quality is outstanding. I got on sale so the value was great.

Awesome finish, great knife.
Love these liner locks. I actually bought a second one because I accidentally threw this down a trash schute at work. The colors are great. It's got multiple ways to deploy the knife. It's a bit bigger than many folks may expect. I love Civivis pocket clips, they're durable and reversible.

Extremely high value
This caught my attention because of the 14C28N steel. From my experience I can’t tell the difference between 14C28N, VG10, or 154CM. They are my favorite blade steels due to pretty good edge retention and ease of sharpening. CIVIVI is fast becoming my favorite brand so when I noticed them using this steel I had to pick one up and it did not disappoint. This knife is as big as I’ll generally carry for EDC. It’s overall size is a bit smaller than a RAT1 but with about the same blade length and noticeably lighter. The opening action using either the thumb studs or the flipper is the best I have ever used. If I try it will fail to open; but that takes effort. Lockup is solid with no play. Blade is drop shut without effort and perfectly centered with an even grind.I can nitpick a couple small issues. I’m not a fan of the lanyard loop as it rubs my palm and at times creates a pressure point. Definitely would feel better if it was wider or just not there at all. I’m tempted to just cut it off. Although the G10 has a good texture it dose feel like a plastic. One thing to keep in mind; this uses pivot bearings and they need to be kept relatively clean. I wouldn’t be to concerned taking it camping but don’t think I would have taken any knife with bearings on a military deployment. When you consider the quality of materials, fit, finish and price CIVIVI knocked it out of the park. If this exact knife was made by some other companies; I suspect we’d be charged twice as much. If you want an EDC knife of this size; I can’t think of anything in this price range I’d recommend more.

I'm impressed
I was looking for a pocketable knife to replace an old worn out knife I have been carrying for 10 years that was only $12. The idea being that with all of the travel I did if I forgot I had it on me and went through TSA with it, that it wouldn't be that big of a loss. Now that I no longer travel for work, I wanted a nicer knife to carry for daily use. First thing that attracted me to this knife, besides the obvious cool look of the Damascus Blade, was how the pocket clip was situated on the knife. This knife sits very low in the pocket when clipped in and with dark pants is very difficult to see. The action of opening the blade, utilizing either method, is very smooth. When locked in place, the blade and handle feel like one solid piece, no wiggle or movement at all. The blade came fully sharpened and I am impressed with how sharp it is! Normally I end up having to sharpen a new blade straight out of the box. Only time will tell how well the blade keeps its edge, but so far I am very happy with this purchase. Would definitely recommend!

Nice knife but was expecting more.
Not a fan of the back being open and the black Damascus makes the knife look cheap.
