as much as i love them these are simply on another level entirely
I have the A2+ speakers, as much as i love them these are simply on another level entirely. Truely. The most important thing is to run them in for a couple of days as this really seems to improve the sound.

Poorly Supported Speakers
I bought these speakers thinking they were a quality product. The jacks did not seem to fit in the horizontal, and most obvious, holes on the bolt connectors, for when I presented them, they seemed too large for the holes and I didn't want to damage the jacks. I then presumed the logical method was to use the vertical holes in the bolt connectors (otherwise why have holes in the first place?). One jack fitted the other didn't! I learnt later that the jacks have to be pushed into the horizontal holes. The lack of customer support from the manufacturer in not giving clear instructions (a simple diagram would have made it so much easier) is not good. Also, the bolt holes being so illogically (to my mind) different in size suggests there could be other build problems. Also the manufacturer's product guarantee is USA only.

Can do better for the price
To be honest I am amazed on the amount of excellent reviews these speakers get. They are good but not that great. The highs are slightly rolled off and the mids are more forward. Definitely an opinionated sound signature. The problem I perceive is there is a lack of detail within the mids. If there is a lot going on with vocals and background music then its gets very muddled quickly. You will find this listening to genres like metal. The bass is very punchy and gives an illusion of taught control like a lead shot loaded floor stander. However its achieved by cutting out lower frequencies that give the bass depth. They also need a lot of run in. This allows the speaker surround to loosen but also it serves the purpose of your ears getting used to their sound. The first time you listen to these speakers they sound very unexciting. Not flat and detailed like a true monitor, but boring. They do well due to the lack of decent powered speakers on the market but for these price of these you could easily buy a tangent bt 2 amp and speakers like monitor audio bronze. This combination will wipe the floor with the audio engines.
