Super customer service, unit works well!
What a fun project challenge that I am glad I undertook. ***This is not an installation for those who are not mechanically inclined*** However, I have done major renovations on several of my residences over the years and had the cahones to take the leap into what I previously considered to be a magical realm. You will need a vaccum pump, R410A adapter, pressure gauge rig (comes with pump), and I really advise a torque wrench with adjustable wrench head (unless you're sure you have the flare nut sockets needed for the lineset diameters of your system). Overall, ~$170 for these if you don't have them already (pricing as of ~Dec'24) I also got Nylog Blue... not sure if I needed it, but it didn't hurt.I did a relatively unconventional installation in that I routed a 25' lineset from the left side of the unit, flush with the wall. My condensate line was also run on a slightly sloped horizontal run indoors, then diverted outside. (I installed this in a finished portion of the basement that allowed me to run the lines through a wall and along an unfinished interior wall of an adjacent area).Caution: if you are using a wall-mount bracket for the outside unit, know that, even with thick rubber vibration damping feet, the compressore section will telegraph a low intensity hum/vibration through the wall studs to the interior space. this is interesting, since there is extremely quiet operation of the unit outdoors otherwise. in my case, the hum was in the unfinished space, thus not relevant. if you will install against a wall in a finished space, I recommend a ground slab mount (on a raised mount if you're in snowfall country).I haven't gotten the app/wifi function running yet, but the hand remote is great. The unit takes a minute or two to fire up and equilibrate, so don't expect it to turn on a dime when you switch modes or temperatures. but, it runs essentially as quietly as the Mitsusbishi units that I had professionally installed at one of my former homes.Wishes: there does not appear to be a setting in which the fan periodically circulates air to mix the air in the room and keep it uniformly conditioned. Since I have high ceilings, and I needed to mount this at about 8 feet up, the air is stratified and is at a different temperature up higher than the rest of the room at 'living' levels (~3-6 feet up). There is a fan-only setting, but this is not in heat or cool mode.I found customer support through the chat remarkably responsive and effective. There is no other way to get in touch with the company. But, rest assured, THEY ARE THERE and respond within a minute or two. All questions were answered quickly and effectively. Where I found an error in the manual that led me to order the wrong diameter lineset, they quickly refunded me so I could buy the right one. (on this note, it would be more convenient and less wasteful to allow the customer to pick the right lineset length when ordering. in the end, I was left with the original 16 foot lineset that came with the unit. (note: the unit comes pre-charged wth enough refrigerant for a 25 foot lineset!)I should also note that there was a small dent in the outdoor unit base due to shipping damage. Look like a forklift might have pierced the box. It was cosmetic only and didn't impact the function of the unit. And, it turned out that my installation location has it largely hidden from plain sight. So, now it's up to seeing how durable the unit is. Otherwise, I would TOTALLY buy another of these when I come across another project like this.

Great build quality and high seer rating
Came from having a Pioneer with several problems which I could only fix the first one, Pioneer has terrible customer service, very cheaply made. Now to the Della, got it with a great discount, way better build, built like a tank, Pioneer was very flimsy, 22 seer, very efficient with WiFi, this 18000 looks like a 2 ton system due to being more efficient, more coil space,

Great AC/heater
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Have had for 1 year and is amazing! Is our main heat source in the winter and our AC in the summer. Great product and easy to DIY install. Maybe have somebody who knows how to vacuum out your AC lines help you but other than that they install is easy and you can do it yourself!

Ditch your central air
I've installed (3) of these units on my 1,400 sf house plus (1) on a 350 sf garage in Florida and they have completely replaced my central air system and gas furnace. My central air system was 3.5 ton cooling capacity and I replaced that with (1) x 1 ton DELLA in the great room and (2) x 0.75 ton DELLA units in the two bedrooms. I installed the 4th 1 ton unit on the garage. The total 2.5 ton capacity of the DELLA units in the house has been more than enough capacity to cool and heat my home as effectively as the old central air could. I had no installation issues and all four units are performing well. I do have a list of minor complaints to offer.1) Most of the units came with some small dents or damage to the outdoor unit. Mostly depressions on the top of the metal housing that cause rain water to collect. All of the head units had a bent air louver due to it being packed up against the electrical cabling that's in the box.2) All of the units are reading almost 3 degrees higher than the actual room temperature. Not an issue once you know this but seems strange that they are not calibrated correctly.3) If you control the units with both the app and the remote there are annoying sync issues. For example, if you've set the display and sounds to be off in the app, and then want to adjust the temperature via remote, the display and sound return to default on rather than how you had them set. This gets really annoying if you want to have a dark bedroom at night and use the remote to control the unit rather than the app.4) Within the Scenes programming in the app, there is no option to set the units in "eco" power mode.5) All of the units occasionally lose connection with wifi and have to be reset by the breaker to reconnect.Besides these minor annoyances, I'd highly recommend these considering their low cost and high energy efficiency. I'm now using almost 1/3 the energy to cool my home that my central air system was and with an installation cost that was also far lower. The ability to control each rooms temperature independently and even direct the airflow directly from your phone are things you will wonder how you ever lived without. If you live in a house with central air ducting running through an attic or other uninsulated space you will likely see huge efficiency gains by eliminating your central AC as I have by moving to all ductless systems. These units are a cost effective way to do that for someone with moderate DIY skills.
