Quik Lok stands - Lightweight, very portable, and simple to use
I use the string swings at the house to keep my guitars and ukuleles up and out of the way but on the road I like this stand. I think it is $3-5 overpriced at $20 (hence only 4 stars). Mainly because other, more complicated, stands that use more materials (metal, foam, rubber, etc.) only cost $12-14. Seems like I'm paying more for less, so to speak. However this is a very portable, lightweight stand that I am very comfortable setting any of my 3 Taylor guitars onto. When properly placed (i.e. vertical and against the non-slip padding) the only way the guitar will go down is if someone (like a 5 yr. old or a moderate sized dog) walks or runs blindly into it and takes out the whole stand. This is important because I used to not use a stand when traveling until one of my guitars was leaned up against a wall on a wood floor and before I could say "NOOOooo", it slid and crashed to the floor denting and marring the finish on it. (My wife said "it added character to the guitar, like Willie Nelson's"....my friend said "please don't kill me...", I said I would give HIM some character....but it's just a guitar and it still plays fine even if the value dropped by $200-300, ugh!). Anyway, this stand will help you protect your investment, as well as possibly save the life of a friend, plus it's easy to use. Cheers.

Handy Design
This design makes it so much easier to grab your guitar and start playing. It's also so much easier to put it back, even with one hand.

Disappointment!
The rubber pad/plastic cup covering the joint fell off the first day I received it! I hot-glued it on and it had only come off once in a few months.Not what I expected from Quik-Lok! I have older stands of theirs and they are still solid!

IT DAMAGED MY GUITAR
I kept my guitar mint for 3 years. It was my baby. I never cared much for the stand design. The foam slid down and just through ordinary use it destroyed my guitar! It left about 5 gouges into the guitar and bits of plastic broke off and stuck into the guitar. You can see the small spots near the binding. That's plastic embedded from the stand! DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT! IT IS A HORRIBLE DESIGN THAT WILL DESTROY YOUR GUITAR.

Exactly what is needed
This was a gift for my husband's guitar, that was always propped against the wall, falling over, getting in the way. This stand has solved those issues and is a good sturdy product. I recommend this item.
