A good entry level USB interface
This is very simple, no-frills, entry level USB audio interface. It has two inputs, one for a condenser mic and another one for regular mic. The condenser mic requires 48v phantom power and this is inbuilt in the box (there's a switch on the back).I am a little disappointed because the Inst2 does not pickup sound as loudly as the main input does. And when I used it with AUdacity, I had to do a lot of tweaking to get it to work correctly with windows. The supplied documentation is pretty much useless. I had to scourge google and YouTube to figure out the issues with Windows 10 (64bit). For example, on day one the Inst 2 was not working. I was petrified. But then I googled and found out that by default Windows Recording interface is set to 1 channel only. You have to go and change it to two channel in the sound control panel.Another funny thing is that if you click "Apply" after making the change and come back, it keeps reverting back to the original 1 channel. The big secret is to click "OK" instead of apply and then the change stays. If you don't change the recording interface to 2 channel, the Inst 2 will never work.I have been working with the Inst2 knob set to maximum but still the sound is not very high. I have had to ultimately come back to my DAW (I use audacity) and edit the sound for better output.I expected both mics to produce same levels of sound but that is my primary and only disappointment with an otherwise very decent product. The only difference between this and the U-Phoria UM2 is that this one has a metal casing and feels a bit more premium whereas that one is plastic body.

Easy to use n quite good for Mic input (+48)
It ma first time using Audio Interface first im afraid that i might have a problem installing the software. But itz almost like plug n play really easy to use. I can used it even before installing the software but without installing the software we cannot adjust the buffer size or its setting. But After i installed the software (I download it from some website not sure where) i can controll the setting but it dosent help me much we have to select ASIO but if i try to use using ASIO ma pc got hang so i just used it normally..For Mic in 48+ voltage help me alot it give a perfect voltage for Condenser mic help the mic catch sound really good. Right now i didn't have Studio Monitor so i can say the performance or how it work. But Front output for Headphone Perfectly working. The Gain Knob reallt help me adjusting it manually as per requirement..Background Noise - Yes it help reducing alot. but it depend on how u adjust the gain.
