I love this stand. I've had it 3 years and use it daily, it usually sits to the side of my kitchen table so I can just slide it over when I have breakfast. I was struggling to read a heavy study Bible without injury to my wrists or neck. it supports the book and holds my page open. I can place it at the right focal distance for my eyes, at whatever height I need, no worry about tipping.I used it most often for the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible New Testament, which weighs a few ounces under 3 lbs. It measures 10.5 inches high X 7.25 inches wide X almost 2 inches thick, no problems at all. it also works great for small paperbacks that were awkward to hold open.I do wish the shelf that the book rests against was thicker. I now have the newly-released Old and New Testament, which arguably could have been split into two volumes. it is a full 3 inches thick and weighs a full 5 lb 9 inches. the stand takes the weight with no issues, but the spine isn't well supported if I'm reading at either end of the book. I came back to see if there is a newe/larger version, I'm not sure if the XL covers me in the right dimension.

I have been using this product for several months now, and I wish I got it sooner! It has helped with my chronic neck strain and pain from crouching over my books while at my desk. Combined with my standing desk, I can even use it while standing to get my legs stretched and moving without disruption. Its ability to fold completely flat has also made it quite easy to keep at hand without taking up too much space. Despite its simplicity, its parts are solid: the wood and rubber feel of good quality, the slider and hinges work smoothly, and the springs are the right amount of pressure to keep even thick books up while on the stand. I believe that I will be able to use this for years to come as long as I don't abuse it thoroughly, so it was certainly worth the investment for all the reasons experienced above!

This book holder seems to be of solid construction. It works well for both small books and large books.The biggest book I happen to own is an old, thick tome of thousands of pages: Van Nostrand's Scientific Encyclopedia. The book hung off the front lip a lot when closed (70% off), and still some when open. So, I used the stand with its highest tilt setting. The book would still hold it and I could turn pages.It could hold Princeton's Companion to Mathematics no sweat. That is also a large book but small compared to Van Nostram's.I like how it looks from the front. The look from the back is tolerable.

I was looking for a book stand and I had a checklist: I wanted it to be small, aesthetically appealing, and preferably in a dark wood color. But I kept getting drawn back to the A+, which checks exactly none of those boxes. I finally succumbed and I'm glad I did: this is a fantastic book stand. You can definitely buy more conventionally attractive book stands but I defy you to find one that does what it's supposed to do better. The beauty of the A+ is the beauty of pure functionality: every aspect of it works exactly the way I want it to.Also: I lost one of the rubber tips from the metal arms that hold the pages in place and wrote the company. I got a personal reply and Dan sent me some replacements in the mail at no charge. They may sell these on Amazon but according to Dan this is a small family-run company and that's what the customer service feels like.What the book stand feels like is what your master carpenter friend would make for your birthday present after hearing you say you can't find a good book stand. Do I wish it came in a darker cherry wood stain to match my other furniture, or that the edges on the base of the stand were rounded? Sure, and if they ever add those features I'll happily give them more of my money. But over the past few months I've come to love this one in all its clunky utility and my head is no longer turned by sexier, svelter stands. I'm COMMITTED to this stand, is what I'm saying. If you want a book stand that will last the rest of your life made by people who actually care about what they're doing, look no further. (And if you want a shallow petite little shelf that looks nice, no judgment.)

I absolutely loved this stand from the day. I bought it in September until about a week ago in March. I read all the time and use it for my iPad as well since I have bad neck problems. I thought it was simple to use it folded nicely seemed well constructed. But then one of the hinges pulled up and the wood cracked rendering it useless. I would anticipate for this price point something like this should last well more than a year. Not less than six months I really debated about what to rate this. Honestly, based on this, I’d have to say 3 1/2.

This is the most beautifully made, functional book stand I have ever seen on the market.I was having bad neck and shoulder pain when studying my big bible.You will not be dissapointed.It is well worth the money. Particullarly because you have a height option, which is what I needed.Of course you dont want to use it as table decor when having guests over.I would recommend the Larger version if you have large books.I think I may order a few more as gifts for friends and family.This is an addition to my previous review. I was so excited to have recieved my book stand that I failed to notice a few things. I'm gonna let it slide this time however. I did noticed the pressed board is a little separated on the low left hand side of the board. It would be nice to see two black reinforcements on the bottom like you have on the top. Also you may want to reinforce the peg stopper as mine fell out after first use.Still a great functional product but there is room for a few tweaks to make it better!
