KS1 Maths Year 1 Daily Practice Book: Autumn Term (CGP Year 1 Daily Workbooks)

My 6 y.o. in Year 1 enjoys it and uses it regularly.

I bought this to support my child with their maths work at home and I love it. It's are simple to follow, have great illustrations and colour.It recommends one page a day, which takes 10 minuets to complete, but I did not find this was the case and my child does not take 10 minuets to do one page. I don't think it really explains very well how it would take 10 minuets, perhaps explaining the task and practising a bit before they complete a page is what they intended nevertheless, I love these books and plan to buy the for all my children.

Great book to work through with a child

This maths workbook and the other subjects collection are great and helping me engage my child. I highly recommend it .

Bought this for my 5 year old in Year 1 who enjoys Maths in school and is happy to do a little bit of extra work when he comes home. We bought the book when it was on sale (had a pound off) and we thought the idea of weekly work and daily activity was very good and would be good to motivate my son with the marks and weekly stickers.The book was better than i expected. Had around 60 pages of activity with one activity per page, which started easy and slowly more challenging through the book. There was plenty to do, adding, colouring, shapes, patterns, number bonds, counting, all following the national curriculum. The pages were thick as children put a lot of effort in writing and colouring and there was enough space for them to write their numbers.However, if your child is even moderately good at Maths, he is going to find this book boring and will move quickly through the book. My son completely the book in a week and he said it was all the stuff he did in reception. So maybe its good to establish reception topics but not really challenging for an average student. I would suggest skipping this book and starting with the winter term if you are happy to sit with your child for a bit and explain some concepts. However, if your child needs the practice, then this is a great book.

It is used for solving mathematics

My 5 year old enjoyed working on the book. Mostly quite easy to do which encourages them as a first maths practise workbook. Will buy the Spring and Summer Maths one soon.
