Great 8inch tablet
Great tablet. Usefully small size and supplied with a tough plastic case. I use this mainly in a Mike stand holder to display song lyrics when performing live. Fast processor responsive touch screen even with glass protector fitted. I bought this to replace an aging s2 tablet and it hasn't disappointed. I have used the pen occasionally to write notes and it works well. Fingerprint scanner is effective and the additional side button that can be configured is also very usefulWould recommend highly.

Rugged, but sometimes a little laggy and okay battery life
It's a very rugged tablet, with a useful extra button (though you do need to a third party app to fully customise it). The Spen is excellent as always. The removable back cover and replaceable battery are fantastic features. It does end up lagging when switching between apps when about three or more are open. The battery life/runtime is mediocre; I expected it to last longer. The cameras are serviceable for taking notes or photographing documents, but are not good. The bundled case could do with lanyard holes on all of the corners, not just one.

Excellent value work tablet
For the price of this tablet you get a lot. It's tough, waterproof, pretty fast and adaptable. The pen that comes with it is great when wearing gloves and is very accurate. This is definitely a good but if you're looking for a tough tablet for work and at the price it is is definitely a leader in my view.

Superd tablet being used as a phone and great service from seller.
I have been searching for this as I was using the Samsung active2 and been waiting to upgrade. Came across this at Amazon Marketplace and got it at a discounted price because it was sold as box opened but inactivated and unused. The product arrived quickly and I am thrilled with it. It is as described, unused and in almost brand new condition. As for the active3, it is a good improvement from the active2, and noticeably faster. Love it. Good seller.

Does the job - but battery life is bad
I bought this to replace my Amazon Fire because there were so many apps I could not get on the Fire. because this runs on Android I can get the apps I need....but the battery life is terrible so make sure you charge when you can

A warning for tradesmen/drivers etc. One very significant apparent deception from Samsung.
As much as I could go into detail about this tablet like how amazingly responsive the S pen is, and the general fluidity of the device, for now I'm primarily writing this review to draw attention to one very important detail, and I will have to unfortunately give this product a low score. Both on Samsung's own website advertising and here on Amazon it suggests you can swap out the battery when it depletes for a seamless experience. This is a falsehood, spare batteries are NOT available from Samsung, at the very least not in this country. I even found a Samsung community post where someone said they were told by customer support Samsung would only replace batteries, not ship out new ones as spares. A few months after release and I'd think this might be Covid-19 related and simply a mistake in continuing to advertise this way due to supply problems, however this device was released in September 2020. If this was the case, the advertising should be updated accordingly. In my case this is not the end of the world, as I mainly just like IP68 rated devices, but this a silly waste of potential considering the removable back cover (which is incredibly rare for a device like this nowadays, even for a phone yet alone a tablet). The only site I could find was a somewhat sketchy website which was a European version of a site claiming to be an official reseller of Samsung goods, but I cannot find that much information on this site and whether they are indeed selling legitimate goods. I will not post the link or name here as they are easy to find and I do not want to advertise a potentially fraudulent website. As always I may get things wrong so buy with caution and do your own research. For the practical sort (which I'd argue is the targeted buyer of this kind of product), this may be the kind of hassle you just don't need. Samsung should either supply these batteries for the UK market or update their advertising. If I have made a mistake and the batteries are already available *at the time of writing*, which I don't think I have because I searched fairly exhaustively including on Samsung's own spare parts site, Samsung is welcome to reply to this and I will edit my review if corrected. I will also adjust my score to reflect if batteries are made available in the UK as promised.Aside from this however, I will list a few everyday things that will highlight some very basic positive/negative features of this device just for the casual reader. Beyond these details you will need to read a professional review. This is a still a fairly high spec and great 8 inch tablet (one of the only recent ones of this size with this quality hardware) with a few compromises presumably due to the way the device was made to be used (two of which being a lower resolution than other high end tablets, though hardly what anyone reasonable could call bad - it is still full HD, and the lack of an amoled display which can be found on most flagship mobile devices nowadays). It will breeze through everyday tasks and activities as you'd expect from a device like this (although you will almost certainly want to change the settings of the side buttons to avoid the obnoxious Bixby intrusions). As you might imagine, the cameras are certainly nothing to write home about which is common for tablets, but the fingerprint sensor is fast and responsive (I have not tried the facial recognition unlock). The non-pin style removable SD card slot is an excellent touch which hearkens back to the days when mobile devices were not in a constant competition to create the most absurdly thin devices possible, which is a casual feature that may please those who, for example, enjoy outdoor digital photography. It's one less thing to mess around with. That being said, it was a mistake in my opinion on Samsung's part not to have the SIM card slot separate. If you take out the SD card, you're also taking out the SIM like on modern phones which may be an annoyance for some and kind of undermines the whole portability aspect. Finally, I want to make one final note on the issue of cases for this device. In short, this may be a problem. The availability of this device has made cases rather scarce. Indeed, I could only find one third party one for this device with a kickstand, and while it fits, the speaker port was badly made and muffled the sound. This could be a problem for those who could make use of such a feature. This is something you should keep in mind and why if toughness of devices isn't a MUST for you you may want to consider getting a more standard style device. It's seemingly well made, but very niche and for those who like the safety mat of other people having the same potential problems, a more popular everyday tablet may be preferred (though at this 8 inch screen size, may come at a compromise tech-wise).Anyway my mind is falling asleep and I think I've covered all the things people might need to know. I hope this helps people and happy searching/buying.

Great bit kit
I love this Samsung Tab Active 3 its fast great battery life and I like the way you can just take the back off and change the battery, like you could in the old days. I have always had Samsung tablets and phones and I have just move from the note 4 to the note 20 my note 4 had three batteries in its life time the note 20 has a sealed back so if the battery packs up in the nex to years I will just go back to my note 4.
