Could this be fitted to a railway sleeper as it could damage cars in my parking space
I intend to use the threaded bolts only to screw in to a wooden floor. What size thread are on the bolts only?
What size chain will fit in this anchor?
can i install this on to wood? i assume i'd need large wood screws and probably some washers to cover the size of the hole in the plate?

Take your time and follow the instructions!

My first attempt at installing this went quite wrong!Tthese are some tips that hopefully help others, as it does seem a good product for a reasonable price. There are a number of videos of people installing this product which also helps get it right!THIS ANCHOR WILL NOT GRIP TARMAC - it needs to be either a wall or concrete floor. To make the holes, use a SDS hammer drill - start with a 8mm masonry bit to make the pilot holes and then a 16mm bit to make the final ones - you need to go 7mm deep - give your drill a bit of a whirl around to make sure youve got the 16mm diameter - I stayed to that depth and it was fine. The kit comes with a handy little metal guide that will give you the correct distance between the holes, so you can make one hole first then use the guide to get the centre right for the next one.Once the holes are made insert the raw plugs WITH THE BOLTS STILL INSIDE, push them down with your fingers as far as they will go - you will probably find it will either go halfway down or maybe 3/4. Then you can unscrew the bolts and remove them. GENTLY use a hammer to tap the raw plugs so they are flush with the wall/ground - you shouldn't need to use much effort. When installing the anchor use your fingers first on both of the bolts then tighten using the provided allan key a little bit each side - the instructions say you should use a torque wrench to not apply too much pressure but if you dont have one to hand just tighten manually with the allen key - if you do this too much it can break them so if youre hearing the concerte cracking then stop - you should be able to get it pretty tight before this happens - just give the anchor a pull to test its solidly fixed.Do not hammer the bolts when they are in the plugs as you will just break the thread and you'll need a new kit. If you do mess up and need a new set of bolts/plugs etc. you can buy these off amazon just search for "Oxford Brute Force Ground Anchor Rawl Bolt Set"Finally with the little ball bearings if you are fixing to a wall make sure you put a towel or something underneath the area you're working to catch the balls if they slip out - which they did a lot for me! In the end I used a small bit of tape to keep them in place whilst I hammered them in.

Sold secure silver ground anchor from Oxford

For those of you who don’t know what sold secure means it’s basically a standard for locks chains and anything to do with motorbike or cycle security. Sold silver is rated at 3 minute protection from those who have the right tools (gold is 5), which include battery angle grinders , crowbars bolt croppers etc. do not be alarmed though your average bike thief is not going to be carrying anything like these around with them. And you have to remember if they want your bike they will take it. We can only provide deterrents against these Neanderthal reprobates. So if you want to keep your bike. Minimum your bike should be chained to a ground anchor with the chain going through your front wheel, it’s a good idea to use a sold secure chain too. You should also have a disc lock on your front wheel preferably alarmed and then lastly your bike should be covered so they can’t see what it is. I have all of these steps plus an Oxford HD disc lock on my back wheel and a camera permanently watching my bike. Plus my bike is right outside my front window. I held off fitting this ground anchor as I thought maybe a chain and a disc alarm would be enough. Although the other night I saw someone on my camera eying up my baby unfortunately though I was too late to go tell them off. Oh what fun we would of had much Joy for me, much pain for them! So the next day I installed this ground anchor. One of the bolts broke when I hammered it in although this was my fault as I was rushing and all that was needed was for the top of my 16mm hole to be bored out a bit more and the next bolt went in perfectly. You can get them from any where. Amazon even sell spares. Although basically you are looking for M10 x 70mm as that is the closest you will get to the M10 x 68mm that come in with this pack. Also it may be a good idea to buy some for when you plan on installing your ground anchor just in case one does break. You can simply use the bolt provided with the kit so you can hammer the steel ball into the hex head after you have tightened your bolts and that thing is solid. I would recommend if you want to keep your bike.

No issues, does the trick

Using this to secure a motorcycle and deter casual theft. I'm not expecting it to ward off any serious level of attack but it's preferred to nothing. Fitting was easy, seen some complaints about the fixings but all went smoothly. Drilled out to 4mm, then 8mm and then onto 16mm. Paid attention to depth and was careful tightening up, used a torque wrench for the last bits and all done. Only confusion is the weird handle bar shaped piece of steel that come with it!

Not the best but more than ok for 10-12 mm chain

Fixings are poor.

Overall okay for the price . You will need to buy new fixings as the ones supplied are terrible and fall apart.
