Had this for a few weeks now, mostly intended for my better half, but I did have to try it for myself.We both approve. I'm a bit long in the torso, so it doesn't go down to my lumbar, but for mid to upper back and shoulder, it's phenomenal. The heat penetrates deeper than just the skin and gets there pretty quickly.It even has a little bit of a collar that comes up behind your neck and warms you there as well. Overall, pretty nice design for just sitting on the couch loosening up tight muscles and tendons with the nice IR heat.

I have 2 of the Pure Enrichment I fared heating pads. The regular large size square one was the first I bought and I adore it, but it wasn’t big enough for my whole back.This one on the other hand gets EVERY area I need. My shoulders are always sore after work (ICU RN) and wrapping this around myself helps ease the pain within minutes. The magnets in the shoulder wrap are genius and help it from sliding down my back. I love the Velcro strap to keep the lower part in place.This thing gets really hot, but not like intolerably hot. I can feel it penetrate deeper into my muscles rather than just my skin.This is seriously a life changing device. 10/5 stars if I could. I’d buy one for all of my friends.

Works well -- difficult for my mom to fasten the neck attachments so it doesn't slide off. Weak hands find the neck attachments difficult.

I like that this is infrared heat and that the size is pretty big. I ordered another one for my sister who kept borrowing mine!

Worked really well for about 6 months, up until a few days ago. The control lights would flash continually and once I would press the button to change the settings. It would stop flashing and then turn off. I tried all the outlets in the house and it still won't heat up. I guess it's done. I should of got the insurance plan. Heads up, get the insurance plan.

Initially I bought the big sized infrared heat pad, and I returned it because it was too big and I couldn't keep still on my shoulders while seated. I got this one instead, stays on the back, I like the design and color, but it has the following problems:1- this is short even for some one 5'2 like me. It doesn't reach the hips, so it can't provide a full back relief. it should be at least 37x24 or ever 37x27 (one that fits for people of all sizes or make different sizes) -2- the heat is not balanced all over: the heat is centered in the middle of the pad, the front of the shoulders barely get any heat, the bottom of the pad as well can be improved.

I love that I could buy this with my HSA card. Sometimes I fall asleep laying on this and it turns off automatically. Helps my back pain.

Not sure about chronic use of an electric current. Might be okay as it seems to remain constant, but if you have the kind of current that turns on and off, that can create a problem..like a toaster or water bed...if you sleep on top of the water bed heater, it can cause pain in back if on it. Just not sure.
