Little Monitors With Massive Sound
Replacing a single bluetooth speaker on my work office desk that has served faithfully for more than ten years. I have Adam Audio A3X on my desk at home connected via XLR to an external dac, so hoped that these would be as effective on my smaller work office desk.In the box: two speakers, two stands with rubber bases, usb c cable with adapter (for connecting to non-c usb ports), 4 pin din cable for connecting the speakers, extra rubber pads for using on base of speakers if the stands aren’t used.Setup: very straightforward. Connect speakers with the din cable and connect speakers to laptop via usb cable. Plug in power supply. Switch using button on front of left hand speaker. The speakers are recognised by Windows 11 as “ADAM Audio D3V”.In use: I use these for Zoom or WhatsApp calls as well as listening to music and podcasts. The source is selected by pressing the knob twice on the left speaker. This selects either analog ( solid green) or digital (solid blue). One can also swap channels L to R) by pressing three times. Muting is achieved by pressing once (the indicator turns yellow). There is a 3.5mm headphone output on the front of the left speaker I won’t use as my laptop headphone output works fine.Sound: the x-art ribbon tweeters offer very clear highs and the woofers combined with the passive radiators on either side offer more than sufficient bass. These are designed for near field use and in that role they are proving excellent. Wide sound stage, good stereo imaging, vocals are clear, sufficient bass. For small speakers they put out a huge sound. I doubt I’ll ever use them at louder fan half volume!Aesthetics: these are small speakers but are perfect for use on a desktop. Though made of ABS plastic, they are solid and heavy. I think they look good and sound excellent.Value: these are not cheap speakers but I think they represent good value. I am using them straight from the usb port on my laptop. For me there is no need for an external dac, though that option is there for the future though I doubt the additional cost would bring much more sonic joy!Negatives: there is no bluetooth, so if that matters to you, avoid them. The speakers turn off after twenty minutes if there is no sound input, though this is going to be changed via a firmware update at some point in the coming months. No subwoofer output, but for my purposes these put out enough bass already. Conclusion: I am enjoying these immensely and anticipate them serving me well in the coming years.

Good value, small footprint. Great sound
I bought these for my pc and I game a lot so wasn’t sure if they’d be ‘flat’ for want of a better word, I had looked at the kanto ora also but because it’s so difficult to actually hear what they both sound like I took a chance.Jasper tech helped btw, he’s a sound YouTuberI didn’t realise they would be as good as they are considering the size, I wish I had the ora to make a comparison but I’m very happy with the Adam.I think what swayed me was the better bass from the adam, plus the switchable presets on the speaker.I’m saying better bass compared to the Ora but I’ve not heard them and you can add a sub to those, so I’m just reiterating what others have said I suppose.Something I’m not sure is relevant is that my mobo has the 4080 codec, which is usb based.Don’t cheap out on your audio codec.

Fantastic small desktop speakers.
The are excellent for near field desktop use, up to about three-four feet from the speakers. I "downgraded" from larger speakers four times the price with only a tiny reduction in overall bass fullness. The amount of desk real estate and cash recovered was well worth it. The ribbon tweeter is very clean and detailed without being harsh. For their size, the bass is excellent. The internal DAC via USB-C is excellent. I now rarely feel the need to switch to my external Chord DAC on my desk unless using headphones. The headphone jack/amp on the DV3s is acceptable, but nothing special. Two minor issues. 1) You'll need an external DAC if you want to add a subwoofer. The DV3s don't have a sub connection. 2) Stand by mode activates automatically and shuts off if no sound for 20 min. It currently can't be deactivated, but supposedly a firmware fix is forthcoming.

USB-C active monitors with a good pro sound
I looked at the IK iLouds but wanted something USB, which the Adam's are, and tick the box. The sound is detailed and although they are pro monitors, they are not 'big sounding' due to the size, which is always a limit - the 3..5” aluminium woofers are on the side which is a nice design and makes these compact and you can hear deep bass, mixing kicks or 808 sounds much better than any PC type montior but it's not at the level to replace full-size montiors with physical big woofers.Still, fo the class - this is the best in class and from some mixing, listening and average YouTube browsing, this set of monitors has enhanced life on a desktop which gives you more objectionable listening so that's a huge plus if you're listneing thorugh montior or iMac Speakers. Everthing is more placed on a 3d SoundstagePros-no need for a soundcard-free stands-dip switches on the back (mine are flat which i found much more flatter despite not having a perfect room)ConsThe monitors shut down in 20 minutes, but a firmware update is coming in February 2025 to allow them to be on without switching them off automatically. It's a 5 star purchase - id' recommend them for the sheer enhancement of day to day life nevermind audio production.

These sound terrific, blown away by these things
I’ve only bought these as i heard a review how good these were and man I am not disappointed. I only have these for general listening and they have replaced my current audioengine a2’s. These Adams are night and day better sounding both highs mids and bass. Only wish they had bluetooth! You will not be disappointed by these, fantastic!
