Sweet, Thick, & Juicy
In short: Excellent product. This is my first order from Melissa’s. I am a passion fruit addict. To be frank, I have an overall winter fruit addiction—passion fruit, figs, persimmons, mandarins, pears, pomegranates. My favorite of all, though, by far is passion fruit. My local Whole Foods has been carrying Pasion Fruit from late summer until November. Then nothing. I have been in withdrawal. Cravings for passion fruit have continued unabated and only worsened. I hesitated ordering them from Amazon, because I wasn’t sure about the quality, and the reviews were mixed. This is a pricey fruit to take a risk on. But my addiction got the better of me. Junkie that I am.In short, these are superb. The service was fast and the packaging great. The fruit arrived fresh. To my delight, the fruit was in different stages of ripeness. You can see from the photos that I am holding the ripest ones—the super wrinkly fruit that look like sharpei puppies—in my hands. I ate those first. The rest I am letting ripen in a bowl under a skylight in my bathroom. It’s the only place with enough sunlight and heat to ripen fruit in the winter.😊 Each day I have 2 or 3 for breakfast. Bliss! As to the fruit: the weight of each pice is delightfully heavy. I immediately noticed a difference between the heft of Melussa’s Passion fruit and the ones I buy from the supermarket. Melissa’s are MUCH heavier by far. Denser fruit yields more sweet flesh on the inside. When I opened them up, I was not disappointed. They are very thick and juicy, almost syrupy, with thick lucious jelly inside. Lots and lots of it. All that a passion fruit addict can desire. Tart and sweet at the same time, but definitely more sweet than tart. The scent is heavenly—perfumed. Perfection.I definitely will be ordering more soon to feed my addiction.

Rip Off
My rating is a one star only because there is nothing lower. This was the biggest scam I have ever purchased. We received 12 pieces of fruit. Two were edible. The others were dried up, fermented and rotten. I enclosed a picture of the last one that we threw away. Unfortunately there isn’t a return on these items and apparently nothing you can. I would strongly recommend that you stay away from this products and vendor.

Good value for money, best to get during height of the season
Haven't been able to really find passion fruits in any of my local grocery stores or farmers markets so thankfully Amazon sold them. The passion fruits were of decent size and incredibly sweet and slightly tangy. I found myself having to restrain myself from eating the whole bunch. I ordered these several times a few weeks apart and would recommend that people get them during the height of the season because in my latest order (late in season), some of the passion fruits had already begun to mold and so I had to toss a good lot of them, which was really disappointing. Also, the fruits later in the season were much smaller.

Glad I rolled the dice and ordered!
I can't find fresh grenadilla in stores, so It's a delight to get them in the mail. Passion fruit takes me back to the subtropics and all the fruit salads I enjoyed as a kid. These passion fruit arrived fairly quickly (less than a week) and 11 of the 12 were already slightly wrinkled and ready to eat. That was fine as I wanted to infuse them to make transcendent grenadillacello liqueur and wanted them ready in one batch. Fruit weighed 1 lb 10 oz before processing- four dark purple (preferred flavor) and eight red/pink. They shipped from Kejoa (California?) but I don't mind subcontracting as long as the product is delicious. And delicious it was! Tart but that's what I expected. Once sugar is added, the flavor of fresh passion fruit soars with fragrant intensity. Hey- we don't judge LEMONS for being sour, do we? We make wonderful lemonade. I consider tartness an asset as I can add sugar and get more value for the money. Very happy with the order and will order again as a treat.

These are the real deal
Now that passion fruits are grown in California, stores in my area that used to stock imported New Zealand fruits no longer do. But the local crop is very sporadic and you can't reliably find them. Melissa's appeared to be the best option on short notice. The fruits arrived in good condition and just starting to ripen, which was ideal. I finished them in paper bags with unripe bananas. A few became funky (none went outright bad) which is the usual success rate. And despite advertising a dozen I actually received sixteen and came out ahead! I compared the ripened fruits' flavor to frozen pulp from an Asian grocery and it was definitely worth the effort of shipping and ripening. The price per pound came out to far less than I've ever found at groceries. My only complaint is 12 (let alone 16) were really much more than I needed. It would be nice if there were an option to order 6-8. But thank you Melissa's for helping this fruit lover do his recipes right!(First photo is the fruits as they arrived, second is after they ripened a week.)

Delicious but it is a very small order of small fruit
This passion fruit is not juicy so extremely light. Each fruit has a spoonful of delicious goodness but it is definitely not the large juicy passion fruit variety you would get in DR. I was amazed how light the package was. One dozen was lighter than a large apple. This is way too expensive for what you get.
